Romeo and Juliet- Act IV, Scene I (Summary)

Act IV, Scene 1

Setting: Tuesday morning at Friar Lawrence’s cell

Characters in Scene: Juliet, Friar Lawrence, Paris

Paris asks Friar Lawrence to marry him and Juliet on Thursday morning. Juliet then enters to ask Friar Lawrence for his remedy,  but she sees Paris so she waited until he left. Friar Lawrence tells Juliet his plan: to pretend to be happy and accepts Paris’ proposal. Then he gave him a potion for her to drink on Wednesday night which will make her pulse go weak and body numb that people will think that she died. Then after two days, when she awakens, he and Romeo will be there and then she will escapes with Romeo to Mantua.
